A global company who are market leaders in the Power Generation field.
Job Description:
Supervise and coordinate the various processes in power generation during the shift such as; delivery of quality product and service to the customer, operation of the diesel generator sets, etc.
Coordinate with customer on fuel management, plant testing and plant loading.
Sees to it that Plant availability is maintained or near acceptable percentage, do necessary actions and or follow ups to other department or section to make it happen.
Sees to it that the plant is operating according to what is stipulated in the signed contract.
Handles daily Plant Dispatch as required by customer dispatcher.
Take command and control of machines scheduled for operation and maintenance to meet dispatch requirement by the customer.
Prepare parallel computation on heat rate and capacity test.
Responsible for the plant operations.
Shift Manager is the Chief at the plant during their particular shift.
Discuss and update operation plan with the Plant Manager.
Responsible for the smooth and continuous operation of the Plant in his shift assignment.
Assist the Plant Manager in implementing company policies, SOPs, safety procedures, good housekeeping, energy conservation guidelines and environmental regulations.
Assist the Plant Manager in the implementation of quality and productivity initiatives in his department.
Act as an Executive Officer of the power plant in the absence of the Plant Manager.
Check light fuel/lube oil analysis results against Light Fuel/Lube Oil Standards.
Document non-conformance found in the analysis of light fuel/lube oil and the corrective actions taken.
Implement corrective and preventive action if there are any non-conformances in the power generation process.
Prepare and review daily and weekly reports.
Prepares daily and assist in weekly operational reports and coordination with the customer and head office.
Investigate causes of Operations' non-conformances and recommend Ensure the accuracy of the data calculated into various information for plant report for Management corrective actions.
Prepare and submit Monthly Billing Invoice to customer.
Assist in the preparation of Plant Annual budget.
Prepare Operations Plan (Diesel Generator Units Operating Schedule).
Prepare, monitor and control operations budget in order to ensure cost effectiveness.
Undertake monthly operations performance review.
Document actions, concessions, and instruction of non-conforming output.
Check equipment readiness with Maintenance Supervisor.
Plan and implement daily operation activities.
Conduct a regular technical evaluation of Power Plant operation.
Prepare, monitor and control operations budget in order to ensure cost effectiveness.
Develop operations SOPs.
Implementing company policies, SOPs, safety procedures, good housekeeping, energy conservation guidelines and environmental regulations.
Plan energy conservation program that are controlled by operation. Monitor in-house energy used during operation and shutdown.
Sees to it that Plant Safety is in place and in Practice at all times.
Supervise Plan and Execute Operations and Maintenance jobs and sees to it that they all comply with acceptable standards and safety.
Coordinate with Plant Manager on shifting and change schedule of operations personnel.
Responsible for operations resources management.
Coordinate with other departments on operations requirements.
Coordinate operations activity with other operations personnel.
Conduct technical training/seminar and meetings for operations personnel.
Ensure proper use and availability of PPE's to all operations personnel.
Responsible for operations by-product waste management.
Coordinate with Maintenance Supervisor on maintenance servicing, overhauls and test/commission activities.
Conduct periodic implementation of all EHS identified drills related to emergency preparedness procedure.
Formulate and implement corrective and preventive action to EHS target non-conformances.
Plan energy conservation program that are controlled by operation. Monitor in-house energy used during operation and shutdown.
Ensure implementation of lock out/tag outs and hot work permit on all plant activities that require such documentation.
Comply with company policies, safety and security rules and code of conduct.
Perform other duties that may be assigned by his superior, from time to time.
Candidate Requirements -
Must have basic knowledge of Diesel Power Generating Sets and its Auxiliaries, must be able to anticipate
Customer requirement based on actual Electrical Monitoring Readings in the Control Room.
Must know what are the different departments in a Power Plant, and its functions in regards to the support of Plant Operations.
10 years experience in the industry
Excellent communication skills
Fluent in English
Qualifications: Bachelors Degree or equivalent
